Lipidol has finally launched & the Farmers stores in NZ are buzzing. The counters look so pretty! Have you spotted one in your nearest store yet??
I thought
I'll do quick review of their 'Cleansing Body Oil' in case anyone out there
is looking for review on the range coz ladies we New Zealanders are the
first one's in the world to try it & that is so damn rare. I've
already reviewed the After Shower Body Oil & this one comes in a
step before that. Note: Because we are moving backwards, the Cleansing Face Oil has also been purchased & is lying pretty on my vanity shelf. Review coming soon!
The 6 oils! |
Lipidol's
CEO at the NZ launch event said that the Cleansing Body Oil was trickiest
one to create! Being a moisture retention range they had to formulate a
product that wouldn't strip the skin of its natural oils but would still wash
off all the dirt & grime effectively. That's razor's edge.. a very thin line... a
fine balance!
Here's my take on the product:
Product:
I have to stay I'm pretty impressed with it. The cleansing oil aka Body wash is
supposed to be applied on wet skin. It doesn't lather much. It's almost
like my creamy Weleda Wild Rose Body Wash but still not quite there yet. It's transy
looking, spreads easily, dissolves body secretions, no foam, and doesn't
take much water to leave contact from the skin. Did you get what I mean?? Arghh.. so hard to explain! OK Try 2: You know when a shampoo or body wash just doesn't wanna come
off.... & you keep trying to get rid of that slippery surfectant
feel! Yup! that one exactly. This emulsifies quickly into a creamy liquid & is gone
before you know.
Skin doesn't feel dry afterwards as the lipid barrier isn't eroded.

Texture: Thin liquid-y consistency, runny but not pouring, like a shampoo you know.
Color: Light green... more so to denote that it has lime essential oil.
Fragrance: As above lemony lime & refreshing of corse.
Packaging: See-through, ergonomical, practical, eye-catching bottle.
Ingredients: I usually don't list ingredients, but due to the curved bottle, it was hard to capture that on camera. So of corse I copied them off their website!
"Glycine Soja Oil, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, MIPA-Laureth Sulfate, Laureth-4, Cocamide DEA, Aqua, Citrus Aurantifolia Oil, BHT, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Seed Extract, Amber Powder, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract, Solanum Melongena Fruit Extract, Lawsonia Inermis Flower/Fruit/Leaf Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Ocimum Basilicum Flower/Leaf Extract, Curcuma Longa Leaf Extract, Pearl Powder, Limonene"
Verdict:
Buy it! You'll be pleasantly surprised. Nothing like we've seen before
in the market. However, if you love foamy body washes, this isn't for you. It's suitable for both sensitive & acne prone
skin though!
Buy from: Your nearest Farmers store as they are the exclusive stockists in NZ. $9.95 for 200ml.
