Jane Iredale Pommisst Hydration Spray Review

No matter what season it is, skin hydration is paramount to me. I have dry skin and I’m forever on a lookout for good hydration sprays. They are so versatile. Skin feeling dry and icky? Spray on. Out in the sun and burning? Spray on. Need a toner to balance out the skin before serum/fancy night cream? Pat some on. Skin looking dull and dehydrated? Give it a refreshing boost with a hydration spray. I use them daily.
So trust me when I say I’ve found a goodie. Jane Iredale Pommisst. A 100% natural and organic facial spritz with powerful antioxidants that hydrate and condition the skin. Before I tell you how I use this spray, have a quick read through its impressive ingredient list- Aloe vera leaf juice powder, Pomegranate extract, extracts of white tea, algae, rosemary, olive leaf and radish root. Pretty good right?

Jane Iredale Pommisst Hydration Spray

It’s called Pommisst because of antioxidant-loaded pomegranate extract in it, which is a powerful antioxidant that helps fight free radical production caused by sun exposure. I'm guilty of not using enough sunscreen so this spray is legit made for my skin.
I’ve been using this hydration spray for many months now. I’ve used it in various ways. Here are some-

- Used as a skin primer before putting on makeup. It creates a tacky base. My foundation adheres better, stays longer and skin looks fresh n dewy.

- Used as a makeup setting spray. After I finish doing my makeup, I set it all with pommisst spray. It helps my makeup stay fresh for longer.

- As a hydration spray during the day when my skin feels dry, especially in winters.

- As a skin toner after my nightly cleanse and before a dose of serum, lotions and potions. It gives my skin an antioxidant boost and also helps other products sink in better.

These are the few ways I've been using this hydration spray. The brand suggests it can be used as a moisturiser for oily skin, as a hair spray to fight static and also to wet makeup brush before applying products such as an eyeliner. I haven’t used it in these ways yet but thought I’ll list them so you get the idea of how versatile a hydration spray is.

Side note: This spray is not fragrance-free. It smells quite floral and botanical.

Jane Iredale Hydration Spray Review

Jane Iredale is a US brand that makes 'the skincare makeup'. Their makeup is as good as skincare- natural, organic, mineral-based and loaded with antioxidants. No wonder their skincare is a gamechanger too.

I love Pommist Hydration spray and do recommend it for all skin types. The brand also makes other hydration spray variants such as D2O (ylang-ylang based, to soothe and calm skin), Balance (made with orange, grapefruit algae and green tea extracts to help balance skin’s oil production) and Lemongrass Love (refreshing and soothing facial mist for tired skin).
If you’d like to purchase Pommisst or any other Jane Iredale product (their new Beyond Matte Foundation is straight-up epic), you can check out the list of their NZ stockists here. There should be a stockist near you. Jane Iredale Hydration Sprays are priced at $59 NZD.
