Weleda is one brand I’ve trusted for a long time for my own body and now even for Aiza. My personal favorite is their Wild Rose range that I’ve previously reviewed on the blog. For Aiza, we’ve been using their Calendula baby range since last few months. We are smitten. I actually regret not picking more of their products during our Europe trip. It’s a European brand, hence the products were at half their NZ price in German Supermarkets.
I genuinely respect Weleda’s brand values and also love their dedication in using the best of healing botanical ingredients in their products.
Weleda Skin Food cream has long been a backstage favorite as an everything balm. This year, the brand added more products to the Skin Food lineup. Two of those are in this review today. I have already finished them clean months ago. I saved the empty jar and tube as a reminder that I have to write about them. They were good to my skin.
Weleda Skin Food Body Butter ($29.90 NZD for 150ml tub) is super rich and nourishing. It’s made for my dry skin, especially in this cold and harsh NZ winter. It locks in moisture for over 24 hours. It doesn’t smell strong and feels soothing to the senses. I truly enjoyed slathering it on after the shower.
After shower moisturization is probably the only form of self-care in my routine these days.
The Shea and Cocoa butter in it gives skin a smooth hydrated appearance. It’s plant-based and suitable for vegans too.
Weleda Skin Food lip balm ($12.90 NZD for 8 ml) is an oil-based nourishing lip balm that can be used as a lip gloss even. It’s delicious!
With ingredients like rosemary, calendula, chamomile, wild pansy, lanolin, and beeswax, it’s deeply hydrating when applied to dry chapped lips. However, as the texture feels more emollient (oil-based) I find that I have re-apply it frequently (every 2-3 hours usually). This made me go through the tiny tube faster than my other balmy lip balms.
Skin Food lip balm is all-natural with nourishing botanical ingredients. I just wish the effect stayed on for longer. In saying that, it totally might be my lips that are extra dry due to breastfeeding round the clock. That process sucks every bit of moisture out of me. This is also why I loved the Skin Food Body butter so much. It managed to keep my skin hydrated for an entire day.
If you are a Weleda Skin Food fan, you’ll enjoy these new additions to the range. They compliment the cult beauty product perfectly.
Side note: these products have already been awarded as the best in their category by many different award organizations.
