Monthly Empties - December 2014 Edition!

30 December 2014

Another month... another set of empties! Don't be alarmed by the amount of products I finish each month. Its just that I have this weird habit of leaving 2 uses worth product in a bottle before I move onto a next one! So there's always heaps of products that I can finish, if I want to that is!

And talk about the month it has been! NZ, Australia, India! Holidays are always exhilarating! Ahhh...Bliss.

OK..lets just jump into this month's empties, shall we?

1. Santé body butter in 'Rose Geranium' ($23 for 100ml)  - Reviewed already on the blog here!
If you have any doubts about my love for roses, just enter the word in search bar on your right. Anything with roses, I'll buy it.

This Sante body butter, had a best before date of August, 2014 and I finished it last month, perfect till its last breath - both smell & texture. If you're in search of a heavy duty natural body butter, this one should do! Handmade right here in NZ, 100% natural and nasties free. Best suited for normal to dry skin. I'll buy one again in a beat!

2. The Body Shop body butter Duo in 'Macademia' - I know butter butters are TBS's bestsellers but for some reason I've not quite gotten on board with them. Maybe coz I can't afford them? I mean I need to moisturize daily, like without fail, so a $36 body butter won't go very far for me! They're good value for money on specials though.

This duo macadamia body butter comes with 2 textures. Normal creamy for body & thicker one for rough areas like cold battered hands, feet & elbows. I don't have much to say about it except that it works alright. It moisturizes & smells nice n warm. I wouldn't buy it again though.

Oh! I bought it off StrawberryNet for about $11 ages ago, so no regrets there.

3. Garnier BodyCocoon Lotion - And another moisturizer! I made a mission to finish off all my heavy duty moisturizers before the start of summer & you'd think I'm doing okay.

This Garnier lotion is an age old favorite. I have a certain nostalgia with its smell that takes me back to my university hostel days!

The lotion is actually quite nice, not overly thick, spreads easily and keeps skin hydrated for the day.
As I've come to prefer more natural products, I shy away from looking at its ingredient list. You know Garnier right?

4. Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Aging Eye Cream ($33 NZD for 15ml) - This has been featured in empties post last year as well (here).

I got on the eye cream bandwagon pretty early for my age but for all the right reasons. I have super dry and sensitive eyes. Most facial moisturizers itch or give me a red eye. An eye cream was the way to go! Been using Olay for years & planning to continue till I have some specific eye concerns to deal with. This one doesn't irritate, helps with under eye circles (a bit!) & moisturizes pretty darn good. It's a beige colored cream with very fine illuminating particles.

5. Maybelline Makeup Remover ($7 for 70 ml) - Already in empties post about 2 months ago (that's precisely how long it lasts with moderate usage). Full review here. Its the only one that doesn't itch my eyes. Highly recommended!

6. Ceres Organics Coconut Oil - I know it's isn't a makeup product in true sense but I use it for variety of beauty stuff so it's made to the list! Ceres is an Organic & 100% pure Coconut Oil available from supermarkets here in NZ. It isn't cold pressed though. That's why I've switched to Health Support Coconut Oil from iHerb.com that has all the frills & is way more economical (Have a look here).

I'm torn as to if I should do a post on how I use my coconut oil... I have so much to say about it. That's one super long post right there! Lemme know in comments below if you're keen!

And guys! Guess what..It's new years tomorrow! Like seriously WOW! 2014 was the best year of my life and I so want it to go on n on. Someone else got those feelers?

Here's hoping for a great 2015 for you all. Cheers to the good times to come!
Nish xx
