Remember I was trialing makeup on friends & family last year before my trip to India? I wanted to practice getting used to other people's face. Its quite a different feeling than doing your own makeup. Try it once..its quite an interesting thing!
I also happened to try makeup on a friend of mine, Miss S. Remember that post? It was her first time with a full face of makeup. She loved it so much that she asked me to do a similar look at her wedding in India. We happened to travel to India together so shopped duty free for all my personal favorites that I could use on her. She is now a proud owner of a very practical makeup kit!
I like to play safe with makeup during weddings, specially on someone else's face, sticking to similar base but changing eye makeup, lip color and such. I'd rather use my face for creativity at this stage!
Here's the look I created on her wedding day. Weddings are stressful, specially morning ones so I didn't really get time to take before/after shots of her face. So here's professional pictures from her wedding photographer.
The Wedding theme was Royal Blue & Hot Pink..so stunning! Even I wore a Royal blue floor length anarkali on her big day.
I reckon she looked gorgeous. I was a nervous wreck all day for I'd never done a bride's makeup and to top it, attend that same wedding with family. Its weird! But she was so chillaxed. She trusted me completely and didn't panic even when I broke her matha patti (head piece). Ok maybe a little! but what's a wedding without disaster? Remember the nail paint fiasco at my wedding?
I also didn't have water-proof mascara so she was forbidden to shed a tear which she had no qualms about. Lucky are those who get to marry the love of their life!
Me and Miss S have similar skintone so choosing foundation was a breeze (How lucky are some people?). Its Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in the shade 'Tawny' (I'm NC 32-35ish in MAC). Hands down the best foundation for weddings! Long-wearing and full coverage.
I went for a classic Gold Eye look from my trusty theBalm N*de Tude palette with a slightly winged out liner & some Ardell falsies. Radiant base, pink blush, pink lips, a natural contour and lots of highlighter. I made sure her lips were nicely exfoliated and doused them with MAC Prep + Prime lip base before applying lip liner & lipsticks.
Undereye concealer (Bobbi Brown Peach Corrector + Maybelline Instant Age Rewind) was set with Ben Nye Banana Powder (Not in picture), the rest of face with MAC Minerlize SkinFinish in Medium Plus. Various coats of finishing spray (MAC Fix+) sealed the deal for the day. It took me a good 1.5 hour to do her face that morning and I did feel another half an hour was needed to help her with clothes & jewelry.

I was with her throughout the day. Her makeup pretty much stayed all day. We didn't do any touch ups. I felt lipstick could be topped up but we were busy dancing so no one really cared. It was so much fun! The bride didn't want to leave the dance floor.
Also, I wasn't super proud of undereye concealer setting either. Any tips?
And that is all. Did you like this look? Should I change my career now? I'm certainly open for bookings..haha
Love
