4/5 All things Nails- Faby & Jamberry

Jamberry nail wraps review

Jamberry mini heater review

Nails have to be my go-to way of feeling posh. I don't get to do it often so I actually invest in good quality nail paints and nail gadgets. I admit I've accumulated my fair share of cheap nail paint finds over the years but I've slowly and steadily gotten rid of anything I don't reach for or fancy anymore. My makeup collection follows the same rule. Quality over quantity any day!

For my Christmas Gift Guide 4/5, I have the best of nails-

1. Faby Nail Lacquers- I'm Faby Spring/Summer 2017 Collection- Mini set $30 NZD

There's reason it's best to avoid nail paint fumes when you are pregnant or have just conceived. Nail paints are actually a concoction of chemicals. Don't let the bright colors fool you. No matter how good the marketing is, these things should be used sparingly. I treat them as a luxury. When I have somewhere to go or there's a certain look that I'm envisaging, I'll put on a nail paint to complete my look. Otherwise, bare nails it is.

In saying that, I'm so glad there's companies like Faby that are making a conscious effort to bring out clean and nasties-free nail paints. Faby is an Italian brand that makes 100% vegan and cruelty free nail lacquers. They are '10-free' meaning formulated without Formaldehyde, Toulene, Dibutyle Pthalate (DBP), Camphor, Formaldehyde Resin, Ethyl Tosylamide, TPHP, Acetone, Parabens and Lead.
Did I lose you in all that chemistry? Whoops!
Just know that these are better for you as compared to the traditional nail paints with those obnoxious acetone fumes. My husband always gets annoyed if I put on a nail paint in our bedroom, specially at night. He's clearly not a fan of their strong scent.

Faby is just out with their I'm Faby Spring/Summer 2017 Collection that has some beautiful pastels and other shades that'll appeal a modern woman. This I'm Faby mini set ($30 NZD) has 4 beautiful shades in an attractive pink box. You could gift them in a box or use the individual 5 ml paints as stocking stuffers. Whatever floats your boat!
This set and many more are available from faby.co.nz website and selected nail salons throughout the country.

2. Jamberry Nail Wraps- $24 for a sheet of nail wrapsthat can be used upto 3 times.

I love Jamberry nail wraps, so does everyone that I treat with Jamberry manicure now and then. I absolutely love surprisingly my girl friends with them. My sister is a true devotee. Even for my upcoming trip back home, I'm taking the whole set with me so I can do manicures on my sister and mum. Its truly therapeutic and special. I absolutely love it when they can't stop gushing about how much they love their nails.

Jamberry basic bundle kit review

So Jamberry Basic Bundle Kit ($94 and includes application kit, mini heater and your choice of 4 x nail wraps) and their special Christmas edition Nail Wraps are my best gift suggestion for anyone that is manicure obsessed. For the price of 2 manicures, you'll have all your manicure needs covered for months to come. The wraps are heat & pressure sensitive and relatively easy to do in the comfort of your own home. It takes me about 30 minutes in total to do all my nails. And they end up looking stunning every time. I get so many compliments on them.
I have done a whole blog post with step by step photos of how to apply them easily. I went quite in detail for that one. Click on this post for more information on them- http://www.lipsnberries.com/2016/12/jamberry-nail-wraps-review.html

For this Christmas I polled it on my Instagram so my readers could help me pick a design out of 8 Jamberry Nail Wraps that I was sent. This Merry & Bright set was a clear winner. It has golden stars, pine trees, foxes with a glossy finish. Isn't it gorgeous?

If you are starting on your Jamberry journey, I highly recommend getting their nail kit and heater set (together $94, with 4 wraps of your choice) though you can totally do without it if you are happy to use a blow dryer or something. Just in case, I got you all confused, these wraps are heat and pressure sensitive so you need a heat source to warm them up before applying. Nail prep is also crucial. The kit has all the essentials. Do click on this post to see what all is in the Jamberry nail kit. You might already have all this in your arsenal and all you need is to buy the wraps from Jamberrynails.co.nz or an independent Jamberry Nail Consultant.
